Meet: Lisa Reid

Mindshare Unplugged spotlights and interviews #TeamMindshare’s rising talent across North America. Everything we do is about Provocation with Purpose. We’re a team that is radically honest – we call this our Authenticity Quotient. We are curious and competitive – that’s our Passion Quotient We embrace teamwork and adaptability – that’s our Emotional Quotient. This week we are featuring Lisa Reid, Director of Paid Search and Social from our Atlanta office.

Summarize what you do in one sentence:

Those ads on search and social platforms - my team makes those happen!

What makes you proud to be unmistakably #TeamMindshare?

Mindshare takes a vested interest in social issues and things that impact their employee’s day to day lives outside the confines of work. The agency actively acknowledges the world outside of the workday exists, and whether it be a flexible work from home policy or recognizing minority groups throughout the year, the commitment to diversity and acceptance makes me proud to be #TeamMindshare.

Provocation with purpose is ingrained in everything we do – how do you live by this every day?

We were able to launch the first-ever military branch on Snapchat! Understanding government accounts need to be extremely thoughtful and careful with their advertising, this was an amazing accomplishment by the entire team to venture on to a new platform while being an innovator in the vertical.

What do you think is the most exciting thing happening in media right now?

Smart, connected devices - the idea that everyday things we use right now could be completely intersected and connected to make our lives easier is mind-blowing. The days of remembering to buy milk could be a soon forgotten problem with refrigerators being able to detect when you are low (having learned how much milk your household typically goes through) and order through Amazon before you even realized you needed it.

It does beg the question - what to do with all that free time??

What have you done at Mindshare that couldn’t have done anywhere else?

The access and knowledge sharing with the other teams is unprecedented. Although I specialize in search and social, it is encouraged to learn all facets of media - especially across the digital side of the house. With monthly digital regroups, both the digital investment groups and search and social teams have shared cross-channel learnings to make our team more holistically integrated. This has allowed team members to gain knowledge that doesn't typically fall within their expertise and has fueled a more collaborative planning and proposal process, making the greater team smarter and more adaptable.

Who inspires you?

New talent. Having been here for almost 7 years, watching new, fresh faces walk in the door inspires me. They are eager to learn, bring different experiences and backgrounds and often challenge what becomes the status quo on teams and in the office. They are often a reminder to not get too comfortable and always look for opportunities to challenge and to change.

Proudest professional moment so far?

I am actually a boomerang - meaning I worked at Mindshare, left for a brief time, and came back (I couldn't stay away!) Within a year of returning to Mindshare, I was given the Purple Heart Award - I was honored to be recognized by my co-workers for my work and accomplishments.
