Biggest learning from my career
Sometimes it’s worth it to just go with the flow, listen to your team, listen to your manager. New opportunities and experiences open up at the most unexpected times, and being open to listening and trying new things is always in the end a great thing, even when it comes with challenges.
One word to describe the last year?
Chaos. But that’s okay. It’s been a rough year for pretty much everyone, and we are all learning how to find our own silver linings.
Best advice you gave out about working differently?
Breathe and be patient. Take a beat to digest what’s going on around you, and communicate responsibly about things. Chances are if you are feeling a certain way, other colleagues or friends have a similar perspective, so have faith and strength in knowing your intuition is probably on point.
How have you stayed inspired?
I think inspiration is harder to come by these days, we’re all inundated with so many more responsibilities, and sometimes you feel like a hamster on a wheel. When I really need inspiration, sometimes that’s when it’s hardest to come by. What I try to do in those moments is strip the task down to the basics, form a few thought starters, and then meet with one or two people that I can really level with, and take some time to build it out together. I’m very lucky because I have an amazing team that I get to work with day in and day out, and we all take the time to listen to one another, build on each other’s ideas and support one another’s strengths.
