Biggest learning from your career

Selecting a career that you enjoy is very important. This comes along with acknowledging that every profession, like life, has ups and downs, and not everything is always roses. Learning to appreciate the positive, and taking the negatives as learning opportunities can create a dynamic to help us appreciate what we do. We spend a good amount of time working, so doing something we enjoy is key for a happy life!

One word to describe the last year?

Adaptation.

The pandemic was a big curve ball that required us to adapt, change our habits, work differently and find new ways to collaborate and interact with others.

Best advice you gave out about working remotely?

Create an environment at home that is conducive to productivity, motivation and inspiration. Having a thought out set up at home with good ergonomics is important. For example, large screen or multiple screens, good microphone/headset, comfortable chair, quiet environment, external keyboard and mouse, standing desk (with option to stand or sit). Also, continuing some of the pre pandemic habits that are conducive to a work-ready mindset such as morning shower, putting on clothes that are different from pajamas or resting clothes, reading the newspaper, exercising.

How have you stayed inspired?

Multiple ways. For one I like reading books. Learning about what successful business people have done inspires me to push myself to do better. Also, the data science and media landscape is constantly evolving at a fast pace, presenting a huge opportunity for us to grow our practice and shape the future of advanced analytics in media!
