Last week, Mindshare China successfully held its first-ever Futureminds competition, a new, Mindshare-led initiative to discover and reward China’s top marketing talent.
For the first competition, 48 of China’s most promising fresh graduate and junior talent were invited from across the country and matched up in teams. Each team was subsequently challenged to solve a sustainability brief from one of the globe’s leading FMCG advertisers, Unilever. During the competition, the teams received mentorship from Mindshare China’s client and product team leaders.
On the final day of the competition, each team was invited to present their proposed solutions in front of Mindshare China’s EXCO team, as well as Unilever China’s Vice President of Data and Digital, Fang Jun.
The two winning teams, alongside three individuals, were admitted as cadets into the agency’s Futureminds 2021 class – a three-year management trainee programme to mentor China’s most promising talent.
Commenting on the initiative, Unilever China’s Vice President of Data and Digital, Fang Jun, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to be part of this inaugural Futureminds competition. The level of creativity and innovation that each of the teams presented surpassed my expectations, each of them delivering solutions with real potential to protect the planet and maintain sustainability. Creating a Waste Free World is a critical focus for Unilever. It is clear that great potential lies ahead for these talents.”
Mindshare China’s Chief Executive Officer, Benjamin Condit, added: “As China’s leading media agency, we see it as our role to find and train the industry’s leaders of tomorrow. No other agency is better placed to do this, with Mindshare ranked as the only Contagious Pioneer agency and the world’s most awarded agency according to RECMA. We are incredibly excited and proud to welcome our very first class of Futureminds cadets, and are looking forward to seeing their future, award-winning work they’ll undoubtedly create with dedicated training.”
Mindshare China’s Futureminds competition will return at the end of Q4 2021, with applications accepted from November 2021. Follow our official WeChat account to stay up to date with the next application process, as well as our latest news.
