In 2011 we launched our Future Leaders Programme, which is open to all Account Managers but based on a competitive selection process. Future Leaders is an advanced modular learning programme, completed over a 12 month period, to accelerate personal and professional development and ultimately to nurture our Future Leaders by giving them exposure to exciting new areas.
As well as attending a number of challenging courses such as the prestigious RADA presentation skills training, our Future Leaders also have the opportunity to work on a live project briefed by our CEO (our present Future Leaders hosted their very own sustainable media conference in February 2014), the opportunity to network with senior members of the WPP group and they are mentored by the Leadership Team.
Meet Zara, one of our past Future Leaders:
I was lucky enough to be selected as one of the 2013 Future Leaders at Mindshare. The programme is open to all Account Managers and the selection process is based on feedback from your managers as well as a presentation to senior members of staff.
The highlight of the programme for me was the exposure to new areas of the business. My mentor (every future leader gets a member of Senior Management as a mentor for the year) opened up new paths, outside of my day to day role, and encouraged me to get involved with areas of the business I feel most passionate about. For example, I've helped produce a new Graduate booklet, which I hope to take out to Careers Fairs with me, to help encourage graduates to join Mindshare.
Future Leaders are traditionally given a set task by the CEO and ours was around Mindshare's CSR policies. I thoroughly enjoyed working on such a significant element of the business and hope that the work we have done can progress and improve Mindshare CSR credentials.
