Mindshare Canada Appoints New Chief Strategy Officer
North America - Mindshare North America, the global media agency network that is part of WPP, announced today the appointment of Devon MacDonald as Chief Strategy Officer in Canada. MacDonald will lead the Communications Planning group, where he will work with client teams to drive strategic planning for brands including Kimberly-Clark, Tim Horton’s, American Express, and more.
MacDonald joins Mindshare NA from leading digital agency 360i, where he served as Managing Director for the agency’s Toronto office. In his role, MacDonald led the office from its launch in 2013—growing staff, driving new business, and leading client work. Prior to that, he served as VP of Engagement Planning for DentsuBos (a sister agency under the Dentsu Network), where he led the planning and strategy team.
MacDonald’s appointment comes on the heels of another Mindshare executive hire. Shortly prior, the agency hired Caroline Breton, as Managing Director, Client Leadership for the agency’s Unilever account in Canada. Breton joins the agency from Quebecor Media, a leading integrated communications company in Canada. Both MacDonald and Breton will report to Karen Nayler, CEO of Mindshare Canada.
“I’m thrilled to have Devon and Caroline onboard,” says Nayler. “Each of them brings their own set of unique qualifications for their roles, but they both share a communications savvy, a passion for adaptive marketing, and proven dedication – both to their teams, and their clients’ programs.”
On top of these new hires, in May, Mindshare Canada, with offices in Toronto and Montreal, celebrated 15 years of business.
