Windows 8 launched on the 25th October and is the biggest change in years for the flagship operating system. Microsoft is doing more marketing and advertising for its Windows 8 Surface tablet and Windows Phone 8 group of products, than any other products in the company’s history. According to figures over the first 4 days of launch, the big marketing push is having an impact, with 4 million users upgrading or buying Windows 8. But why the big change? Once the market leader, Windows has seen its share of personal services shrink from 95% of the PC only market to roughly a third of all personal device sales.
